Life Satisfaction – 3 Interesting Must Know Quotients

Did you know that there are 3 key areas that can assist you to have a happy/prosperous life?

What are they?

I would like to call it IQ, EQ and SQ.

IQ is a fairly well know concept, particularly in the USA. IQ tests are a measure of ability in relation to memory, language, mathematics and spatial ability.

In more recent times, people have brought the concept of EQ into play, especially in the human resources industry.

EQ or Emotional Intelligence has been defined by Peter Salovey and John D. Mayer as “the subset of social intelligence that involves the ability to monitor one’s own and others feelings and emotions, to discriminate among them and to use this information to guide one’s thinking and actions”. (1990)

Peter Salovey and John D. Mayer proposed a model that identified 4 different factors of emotional intelligence. These included: Perceived emotions, reasoning with emotions, understanding emotions and managing emotions.

As you effectively learn to manage your emotions your level of happiness will increase. Learning to respond instead of reacting to events and people will empower you to become a more self-determining person.

Your Spiritual Quotient (SQ)

Your Spiritual Quotient is your ability to be aligned with your core values and beliefs. Living your life according to your highest values will add to your joy, peace of mind and life satisfaction.

What you need to figure out is what your highest values are and how your values will serve you to attain true joy and success in your life.

SQ or spiritual intelligence has yet to be popularised, and is yet to be acknowledged as the 3rd fundamental ingredient that is required by all to achieve life satisfaction.

When SQ is finally understood, a desire and focus for Spiritual Development and a deeper analysis of one’s values will become popular.

Ultimately the highest values that create the greatest depth to life satisfaction are Love, Happiness, Health, Joy and Prosperity, created by actions involving Honesty, Loyalty, Generosity, Focus, Clarity, Discipline, Good Dealings and Good Relationships.

Bringing Love and Care Factor to everything you do is a great starting point.

Society will evolve over time to better understanding SQ, as life satisfaction becomes the commonly understood goal to our existence.

All the best in living your purpose-driven life, and may God bless you and your family.
